You qualify for a free eye test if:

• You are on a qualifying benefit such as universal credit, pension credit or tax credit etc.

• You’re under 16 or are aged 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education.

• You’re 40 or over, and your mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter has been diagnosed with glaucoma.

• You’re 60 years old or older.

• You’re registered as partially sighted or blind.

• You’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma.

• You’ve been advised by an ophthalmologist that you’re at risk of glaucoma.

• You’re a prisoner on leave from prison.

• You’re eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher. 

You qualify for free glasses if:

• You are on a qualifying benefit such as universal credit, pension credit or tax credit etc.

• You get income support.

• You get an income based Jobseeker’s allowance.

• You get income based Employment and Support allowance.

• You get pension credit guarantee credit.

• You get tax credits and meet the criteria.

• You have a low income and are named on a valid NHS HC2 certificate.
